Our group are focusing on the thriller genre, but as part of or research we need to know exactly what makes us recognise these certain conformities that build a 'genre' for our audience - "offering a vocabulary and a set of rules which allow us to shape reality". Knowing the definition of genre helps our group understand that iconography is very important to capture our audiences attention and let them know what to expect in the film.
