Whilst producing our final product, this theory may come into use. If not, I still find it important to know about postmodernism because it effects the media today and the audiences consuming it.

After completing our teaser trailer I can relate the final product more clearly to postmodernism. Our trailer uses many recognisable 'traits' that a thriller film stereotypically is associated with, such as the iconography of a gun, a smart suit, and building of tension. We can argue that we 'borrow' things from other sources - like a Tarantino-esque title sequence at the end ("December 2011" cuts in at the same time as the gun shot) or the handheld camera following the footsteps, that you could see in a 1980's police/detective drama! Its this picking and choosing from different eras that makes our teaser trailer 'postmodern' and we use old and new techniques to create our own work.
